Kilimanjaro Climbing through Marangu Route

Day 1:

Pick up from the airport/bus station and transfer to the hotel
O/N Outpost Lodge

Day 2:

After breakfast then drive to Marangu gate for formal registration and final preparation before starting to incline at the most popular route of Kilimanjaro Mountain, walking into the ridge trail through fascinating rainforest, as the forest shrouded to mist and dripping, the forest offers some animals such as black and white monkeys, rock hayrack and birds to watch, arriving at Mandara for dinner and overnight stay

Day 3:

Breakfast then continue with your climbing, ascent through the alpine forest, and then to the grassland before emerge to the moorland with a great chance to see some of the most imposing plants such as giant groundsel, endemic giant lobelia with a spectacular view of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks when those peaks are out of the clouds arriving in Horombo for dinner and overnight stay

O/N Horombo Hut (3761m)

Day 4:

Acclimatization day at Horombo, spending the morning hours of your day to ascend nearby Mawenzi peak passing through the Zebra Rocks before returning for lunch, having a long rest thereafter walking to the valley and returning for dinner and overnight staying at Horombo

Day 5:

Ascent further to Kibo(4732m), walking into the saddle through a rough and eroded land with a chance of encountering the mountain spectacular vegetation the likes of giant cactus, lobelia and groundswell to pass the last water point and arriving at Kibo for the rest and final preparation before bidding for the summit

Day 6:

Wake up a bit early in the morning (after midnight) for the summit, it is a very big day (Rumble day) and the summit from this point will be only 1195m to be conquered, ascending furthest when the stone is scree and the weather fluctuating to a zigzag path up to Gilman's point (5816m) thereafter  ascent to Uhuru peak (5895m) the highest point in Africa (roof of Africa), after a while and the experience of lifetime adventure then regrouping and descending following your footsteps with a recuperation period at Kibo hut before descend to Horombo

O/N Horombo Hut (3761m)

Day 7:

Breakfast then descending further down to Marangu gate where you will be signing off and awarded your certificate and transfer to your hotel

O/N outpost Lodge

Day 8:
Leisure day before transferred to the airport for your return flight or bus station
