Mts. Meru and Machame with safari

Day 1:

Met upon your arrival from bus station/airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha

Day 2:

Breakfast then leave the hotel for Momella gate where is the starting point of Mount Meru trekking, for formal registration and final preparation. With the accompany of assigned armed ranger you will start to climb through the open grassland with some game spot of giraffes and buffaloes to be spotted , emerging at the alpine forest to waterfalls as a picnic area for lunch and rest for a while, thereafter ascending further to Miriakamba for dinner and overnight stay

Day 3:

After breakfast then the climb will continue following the wooden steps along a steep trek in a very cool temperature as the cloud always hanging low in the fascinating rainforest before creating a moody atmosphere in the lush vegetation. Passing through the uphill while heading to the vintage point of mgongo wa tembo (elephant back) before drift from rainforest type of vegetation to heather and moorland that lead the way to Saddle.

After a long rest ascent to little Meru for acclimatization then descent to Saddle for dinner and overnight stay

Day 4:

Wake up a bit early after snacks and some hot drinks then leave the hut for summit by following the trail through the bush land to Rhino point and as the climb start to get it rhythm, passing into the volcanic ash to the rock and gravel and then following the crater rim to reach the Socialist peak(summit).

The views of Mount Kilimanjaro ad Mount Meru Ash cone will be fantastic with the sun rising experience, the descent will follows the same trail back to Saddle hut for long break and recuperation before descent further to Miriakamba for dinner and overnight

Day 5:

After breakfast, descent to Momella gate by following the northern route on the way down with the chance of seen elephants, buffaloes, giraffes as well as black and white colobus monkeys. After signing off at Momella gate then pick up and driving to your hotel in Arusha

Day 6:

Transfer from the hotel to Machame gate, after a formal registration then start to climb through the ever changing rainforest alive with birdsong, the path turns to narrow following a rocky ridge to thicker vegetation (giant heather and Spanish mosses) to alpine moorland, arriving at Machame camp for diner and overnight stay.

Day 7:

The climb continues to Shira walking along the rocky ridge scatted with giant heather and passing several clearings with great views of Mt. Meru and Longido in the western corridor. Ascending to across several ravines through land studded with giant lobelia and giant groundsels to Shira cave before reaching the last point of the day

Day 8:

Ascending further to Lava Tower for acclimatization along the trails, walking gentle where the vegetation is limited to lichens and Moses then the trails takes the series of shallow up and down valley in the base of the western breach and then branch off to Baranco

Day 9:

The climb continue in a steep and stretches of Baranco Wall the zigzagging path and a narrow path to follow a spectacular traverse east along the base of Kibo, walking further to Karanga Valley

Day 10:

Breakfast then take the path from the Karanga valley undulating across two gentle river valleys. The path contours around the mountain and through  a patch  moorland before cresting a ridge reaching  a cross roads, the left hand path lead to the scale broad ridge that climb to the north- east towards Kibo.

The virtue of its elevated and exposed position the views from Barafu are spectacular when approached from the western side of Kilimanjaro, the jagged outline of Mawenzi will be visible across the broad expanse of the saddle.

Day 11:

Summit day is the most exhausting and involves at least Seventeen hours from Barafu to Uhuru peak then down to Mweka Camp. This day normally starts after midnight, take the trails following an increasing steep valley on the edge of Scree fields, passing between Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers to emerge at Stella point (5681m) on the southern rim of Kibo then ascending further to Uhuru peak (5895m) after spending some few minutes at the top roof of Africa then descending to Barafu after a short rest then descending to Mweka camp (B,L,D)

Day 12:

This is a short relatively swift and final day on the mountain, descending through the forest with lush and extremely picturesque to Mweka gate. The climb will be concluded by registering the succession at the gate before transfer to the hotel.

Day 13:

Breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, the park which occupies the section of a shallow soda lake at the foot of the Great Rift Valley's. Enjoying the game drives in the groundwater and thick bush area which allows an   intimate and heart-stopping sense of being in the wild when animals suddenly appear. The game will continue to plain areas and along the lake shore where the most spectacular spot to be spotted is the birdlife

Day 14:

After breakfast driving to Ngorongoro for Ngorongoro Crater tour, descending into the crater in one of an enormous 600m  deep(Caldera) and enjoying the wild game in a natural amphitheater with a packed lunch till late afternoon   then ascending and driving to Karatu

O/N Farm House

Day 15:

Depart Karatu for Tarangire National Park, the park which plays the host to an annual migration and an area that turn out to be a fantastic game viewing in the dry season, game drives will mostly be taken in a close by River Tarangire surroundings and to the weird and huge impressive trees (Baobab), the trees   that providing wonderful silhouettes for sunset photographs. Tarangire Park contains pretty much every animal’s species that you are likely to experience on safari except of Rhino, later in a day driving to Arusha for drop off at the airport for your return flight or hotel
